Celiac disease is a digestive illness that injures the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food.

When people who suffer from Celiac disease eat food or some products that contain gluten, their immune system reacts may damaging or destroying the villi, which is the tiny, fingerlike protrusions lining the little intestine. Villi allow nutrients from food to be soaks up into the bloodstream. If the villi is not healthy, then a person becomes malnourished no matter how much food eats.

The only treatment for celiac disease is a gluten-free diet. Despite the restrictions, people can have a lot of variety of foods such as rice, potatoes, soy, amaranth, quinoa. They can also buy gluten-free bread, pasta and other products from convenience store that contains organic food or other products from specialized companies.



You have to eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, rice. Gluten is also used in some medications and before you buy them you should ask the pharmacist if these contains wheat. The gluten is sometimes used as an additive in unexpected products. If the ingredients are not listed on the label the pharmacist should have a look in their database so that you can be sure doesn’t contain gluten.
